Reclaiming your heart

Many of us have had things happen to us in one way or another and it has affected our relationships with family and friends and mostly ourselves. Not realizing your doing it at first but it can change the way you think and the changes you do in your life. The biggest thing for me is trying to be the person I use to be the one who laughed and made others laugh. I know one thing I have changed the way I look at people. I give them a chance and not judge them. I let there story unfold as I may find out they have had a rough life too. One of our pastors told us in a sermon one time that he and three other pastors were eating and that their waitress wasn't very nice and that they weren't leaving a tip, pastor Bob told them "that we have no idea what kind of day she has had and that if we leave a nice tip it could change her mood or out look for the day" that has stuck with me for years. I always try and smile and look at people as I come face to face to them. I have a hard time looking at people in the face I have since I was a child. I remember my mom always saying " look at me when I'm talking to you" never could. Not sure why but it was hard. I want so much to be the person God wants me to be, sometimes I feel I have feld. So reading this might help bring me back to who God wants me to be but better than before.
I started reading this months and months ago and now I'm reading it again but all the way through this time. So far it has hit home more than once or twice so now I think I need to finish this book. If you have been divorced or have lost a loved one or lost a child, lost a job, or terribly hurt by someone in your life this is a book for you to read. Denise Hildreth/Denise Hildreth Jones is one of my favorite authors of Novels butch this book is not a Novel it is about her life and how she and we can live again.

I've got a few new things to show you will post soon. I've been down with server pain in my lower back and legs. Hopefully I can get the pictures taken today and post. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul and mind and strength

Tuesday Morning/Joann's Haul

Just wanted to share my haul from Saturday of many good things to come in projects.

B is for Blessed

Well I have been hitting up the Goodwill stores and found this B letter in white, it had black marks all over it like someone took a pen to it. I knew I was going to paint it anyway so I brought it home along with this brown thing that I knew from the first look what would use it for. Ink pads. I'll never fill all the slots and not sure what it was ever used for the first time.
I painted my letter B with acrylic paint and then sanded the edges so the white would shine through. I painted the inside of the B with a little bit lighter color turquoise. Then I added flowers that I had purchased at LA fashion District in California and a couple from the dollar tree there are also doilies and a key with the word hope, and the word joy that I got from SaCrafters. I paid $.99 for the letter B.
This letter B is heavy not sure what it is made of but the outside of this was for Formica  the countertop material.
I hope you look for things at garage sales and thrift stores that you can use in your craftroom and around you house or even give as gifts. We have so much stuff in the world that I like trying to repurpose what we have already have.
I have added the picture of what will be my Ink pad holder of what it looks like now. I am tearing off the woodgrain contact paper off so it can be spray painted white. It came with hangers to hang on the wall not sure if I'll do that or just place it on a table up against the wall.
Have a Blessed day and may you enjoy crafting things to cheer you and your friends.

Cross of Life

Hi to everyone and hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day.
At church we had two ladies come in and show us how to paint this cross. It is the large size canvas 11x14. They do this in different church's for fundraisers we paid $30 and that included all paint, canvas, what brushes we used and breakfast and lots off coffee. You didn't have to know how to paint to do this painting. On there painting they had painted everything flower and the white dots. I had a friend say "Teri one of your fabric flowers would like great on here" I was already thinking of how I could change the flower to something different than what they had as I didn't think like how they had painted theirs. I had also decided I was going to put flat back pearls on mine where they had painted white dots. So I finished my painting here at home and found that I didn't like any flowers I had made so I made one that would look just right on the painting. I love how it turned out. Next month I will be painting a tree on a hill, I think it signifies the amount of olives. There is also a cross on a hill with a rainbow behind it. I like the tree so I'll do it. page2image29728 page2image30584
It is amazing how different all the paintings looked when everyone was done. So will be fun to see how these two look when done.
I have added my finishe painting of my cross hope you like it. And ask around your area and see if any church's are doing this kind of thing. We had people there I have never seen before. It was fun fun.
